Co-hosts and sponsors

Co-hosts and sponsors: what each role can do

The three roles on an event, and exactly what each one can see and do.

Every organization on an event has one of three roles. You choose co-host or sponsor when you invite someone, and you can change it later.

Primary host. The organization that owns the event. It can do everything.

Co-host. Runs the event alongside you, short of ending it or changing who is in charge. Appears under Hosted by on the event page.

Sponsor. Supports the event, sees and manages the guest list, and gets its logo on the event page under Sponsored by.

"Primary host" includes everyone in the primary host's organization. The same goes for co-hosts and sponsors: colleagues in their organization share the access.

A co-host or sponsor gets this access only once a host has confirmed them. Until then they can see the event's sponsor view, but not its tabs.

Change someone's role

On the Hosts tab, open the person's menu:

  • Change to Sponsor moves a co-host to sponsor.
  • Upgrade to Co-host moves a sponsor to co-host.

Only the primary host can change a co-host's role or make someone a co-host.

The change takes effect straight away.

Common questions

Which should I choose? Pick co-host for a partner who plans and runs the event with you. Pick sponsor for a partner who brings budget and attendees but does not run the event.

Can someone be a co-host on one event and a primary host on another? Yes. Roles are set per event.

Do co-hosts and sponsors need a paid plan? No. They do not count toward your plan's user limit either.
